New Product Support

The Q-SYS Core 24f processor provides a fully integrated audio, video, and control solution for installations with a mixture of analog and network channels, supporting meeting room environments or conferencing systems. Core 24f provides system audio, control, and VoIP telephony services, as well as Core services for other audio, video, and control peripherals. For more information, see Core 24f.

The I/O-Core 24f is a versatile audio processing unit designed to operate in both core and peripheral modes. It shares the same hardware as the Core 24f, with the primary difference being its configuration in Peripheral Mode. This mode allows the I/O-Core 24f to handle local input/output connections and interface with Q-LAN components, providing a streamlined and efficient solution for audio processing needs. See I/O-Core 24f for more information.

Licensing Changes
In v10.0, there are several important updates to our licensing structure that aim to streamline and enhance user experience. For detailed information, visit Licensing.

The Q-SYS Scripting Engine feature license is no longer required when deploying Scripting components to a Core. Users will now have the ability to add Block Controllers, Text Controllers, Control Script components, Scriptable Controls, and Plugins without the need for a Scripting license.

The User Control Interface (UCI) Deployment license is no longer required when deploying a design that contains a UCI to a Core. Users will now have the ability to generate an EID containing a free UCI Deployment and Scripting Engine license if they need to use a version earlier than v10.0.

Now that the Scripting Engine and UCI Deployment licenses are no longer necessary, the Microsoft Teams Room UC Integration License (which bundled the Scripting Engine and UCI Deployment) is no longer required.

This license focuses on combining the Q-SYS Collaboration Bundle Scaling License and the Q-SYS Commercial AV Bundle Scaling License, including all-purpose DSP processing power, networked audio channel capacity (128x128 channels of Q-LAN/AES67), and Media Stream capacity (up to 24x24). It also increases the maximum Q-SYS peripheral count (up to 48 Q-SYS peripherals). For more information, visit Licensing.

This license allows users to play multiple audio tracks simultaneously, enhancing the versatility and functionality of the system. The 32-track playback license can be stacked up to the playback limits of each Core. On Cores that support 128 tracks of playback, this offers a new 96-track tier.
Video

The Mediacast Output component for the NV-32-H is designed to create a Mediacast preview stream using HDMI Output 1 as a video source, which is exclusive to the NV-32-H. When a Decoder is connected to an HDMI source, it will display the Mediacast Preview Stream. See Mediacast Output (NV-32-H) for more information.

VisionSuite Designer (VSD) is a web/browser-based user interface that interacts with Q-SYS and VisionSuite applications running on various hardware, including Q-SYS Cores and VisionSuite accelerators. VSD includes a visual design tool that allows users to visualize floor plans and active talkers in a 3D space. It is available in the Schematic Elements Library > Video Components > VisionSuite. See VisionSuite Component (VisionSuite Designer) for more information.
Control

Q-SYS Designer v10.0 enhances control presentation in Q-SYS Designer, making it more detailed and user-friendly for those managing numerous controls in a UCI. Layer control icons now match the Toolbox icons, ensuring a more intuitive and consistent interface. The top labels provide more detail for easier identification, while the bottom labels allow you to rename them for better organization and quicker access. Visit Layer Customization for more information.

The sequencer component in Q-SYS Designer v10.0 allows you to create and manage sequences of events or actions with ease. Define a series of steps, each with specific timing and actions, and execute them in order. This component is perfect for automating repetitive tasks and ensuring precise control over complex operations. For more information, visit Sequencer.

The when component in Q-SYS Designer v10.0 enables you to schedule events based on specific days and times. Configure the component to activate events on selected days, at precise times, and for defined durations. This feature ensures that your scheduled events run seamlessly and efficiently, providing you with greater control over your system's operations. For more information, visit When.

Q-SYS Designer v10.0 introduces the addition of proxy server configuration in Q-SYS Designer. This new feature allows you to route network communications through a specified proxy server, enhancing security and network management. Its key features include:
- Proxy Server Enabled: Easily enable or disable the use of a proxy server.
- Proxy Server Address: Specify the address of your proxy server for seamless integration.
This enhancement ensures that your network communications are secure and efficiently managed, providing greater control over your system's connectivity. For more information, visit Proxy Server.

The Flexbox in the UCI toolbox is a layout tool that allows you to arrange items in a flexible and responsive manner. It is particularly useful for creating elements within a UCI that are assigned to a layer and are dynamically displayed based on changing factors like the number of sources or paired deices. Flexbox makes it easier to design a flexible layout structure without using float or positioning, by arranging items in rows or columns. See Flexbox for more information.

The ‘Edit’ and ‘Add Panel’
buttons are now positioned next to the component name, ensuring ease of access, especially when working with large scripts. The ‘Close’ button remains on the right for consistency, but you can still double-click the component header to close it quickly.
Streaming I/O

Q-SYS Designer v10.0 introduces new Streaming I/O inventory items: the ST 2110 Audio Receiver and ST 2110 Audio Transmitter. These components, found under Inventory > Streaming I/O, support SMPTE ST 2110-compliant audio streams with optional network redundancy and offer both manual and NMOS connection modes for enhanced flexibility and integration with third-party devices.
Management

This update relocates the Generate CSR tab into the Device Certificate Tab within the Q-SYS Core Manager, while the Peripheral Manager retains the Generate CSR as a separate tab.

A new Secure Communication and Trusted Peripherals feature in Q-SYS v10.0 adds an extra layer of security to Core-to-Core, Core-to-Peripheral, and Core-to-external control connectivity. When enabled, devices and control connections establish a trust relationship, exchanging keys to encrypt all communication to ensure privacy and system robustness. Visit Network > Certificates for more information
Note: At this time, we do not recommend enabling this feature on systems with more than 64 Peripherals. This limit will be removed in the next patch release.
