Controller Configuration
The Controller Configuration page customizes the in-room user experience on the UC controller paired with the RoomSuite Collaboration Bar. Use it to enable camera controls, integrate Q-SYS Room Controls, configure content sharing, and set up Bring Your Own Device mode.
Controller
Camera Controls
Enable or disable manual camera controls on the controller. When enabled, users can access pan, tilt, and zoom through the Microsoft Teams Rooms controls on the touch interface.
Q-SYS Room Controls
Q-SYS Room Controls allow a Q-SYS UCI (User Control Interface) hosted by an external Q-SYS Core to be rendered on the UC controller. The control processing is performed by the external Core, while the controller presents a unified user interface.
To configure Q-SYS Room Controls:
In Q-SYS Core Manager, generate the UCI web link and security token.
In RoomSuite Collaboration Bar Manager, enter the UCI link and token in the Q-SYS Room Controls field.
Note: This field is intended for Q-SYS UCIs only, not arbitrary URLs. This ensures a secure integration model between the collaboration bar and the external Core.
Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Mode
BYOD mode allows the USB-C connection on the controller to operate as a USB AV bridging interface for a connected laptop.
BYOD Capabilities:
Maps the collaboration bar's microphone, camera, and speakers to the connected laptop.
Supports third-party meeting platforms outside the Microsoft Teams Rooms experience.
Supports sharing laptop content to the collaboration bar's display outputs.
Exiting BYOD Mode:
When the BYOD session is complete, the user must exit BYOD mode on the controller to return to the standard Microsoft Teams Rooms experience.
Screen Brightness
Adjust the controller screen brightness. The setting is read from the controller and persists as a configuration parameter.
Content Sharing
Content Sharing Source
The USB-C connection on the controller is the default content ingest source for Teams meetings. Alternatively, the collaboration bar's HDMI input can be selected as the content sharing source during commissioning.
Source Use Case USB-C (default) Direct laptop connection to the controller for content sharing. HDMI Input External content sharing receiver (e.g., wireless presentation device) or a dedicated video source.
Note: Content sharing source selection is a commissioning-time decision.
USB Connection Status
